Types of card lock: "Freeze" and "Block"

At Clara, a card can be either frozen or blocked. Both actions temporarily prevent the card from being used, but they differ in who can unlock them and when each should be used.

What does it mean to "freeze" a card?

Freeze a card is a quick and reversible way to temporarily pause its use.

You can freeze and unfreeze your own card at any time, directly via the Clara app or platform.
⚠️ Important: Freezing a card does not require approval from an administrator or manager on the platform.

What does it mean to "block" a card?

Block action is a restriction applied by an administrator or manager, usually for security reasons or to enforce internal policies.

In these cases, the card cannot be unblocked by the cardholder.
Only the person who applied the block, or someone with a higher role, can unblock it.
