At Clara, we aim to give you total control over your spending. The Restricted status is a reflection of your personalized security settings; it indicates that your card is successfully following the specific time-control rules defined by you or your administrator to keep your company’s budget on track.
Why does it appear as restricted?
A card enters restricted status when it is waiting for its permitted usage window to open. This is a smart control feature that happens for two reasons:
- Days of use: The card is set to work only on specific days (e.g., Monday to Friday) and today is a non-permitted day (e.g. Saturday)
- Future activity period: The card has a scheduled start date that has not yet been reached.
What can I do with a restricted card?
Even if a card is restricted and cannot be used for transactions, you maintain full flexibility to view and manage it:
- View and edit: You can still view all card details and edit its settings. You can change or remove day/date restrictions to return the card to Active status immediately.
- Freeze or Block: You can perform these actions even while the card is restricted.
- Note: If a card is frozen, it will remain unavailable for use even when its permitted activity period arrives. You will need to manually unfreeze it before the card can be used again.

The card will be available for use automatically at the start of the selected day (00:00 AM).
What happens when my card’s period ends?
